Dallas Stars start road trip up north in Buffalo taking on the Sabres
The Dallas Stars are back on the road after a super disappointing loss at home to the last place Montreal Canadiens. The Stars look like a hockey team trying to find their identity out on the ice and it can start in Buffalo. This is the first game vs the Sabres this season with the other matchup to be made up in February. Here is how the Stars can beat the Sabres and find themselves again.
Dallas Stars vs Buffalo Sabres: 3. Enter their home and kick up your feet
I want to see that same anger that the Stars showed on home ice Tuesday night at the beginning of the game Thursday night. I want to see so many goals to the point that the Stars are on cruise control for the remainder of the game at the end of the first period. Then the Stars can “kick their feet up” for the remainder of the game.
Dallas Stars vs Buffalo Sabres: 2. Give Holtby some playing time
I want to see Braden Holtby get some playing time on this road trip so he’s ready for the COVID makeup games in February. As Stars fans are aware, all of the games that have to be made up are divisional games that could help to a playoff birth. Might as well make sure all of the rust is off of Holtby now than in February.
Dallas Stars vs Buffalo Sabres: 1. Find that team Identity
The Star’s body language on Tuesday night showed they kind of looked lost as a team. None of the lines were really producing much scoring opportunity which is unusual. There needs to be a sense of urgency and it all starts with the coach and the captain. Hopefully, Jamie Benn lit a fire under this Stars team after the 3rd period brawl that took place Tuesday night.
