The Dallas Stars look to continue their winning streak tomorrow night as they take on the Winnipeg Jets Friday night in Dallas. This will be the second straight divisional game out of eight in a row for the Stars. If the Stars want a shot at making the playoffs, they have to win a majority of these eight conference games. Here are the keys to the game for the Stars tonight as they look to ground the Jets.

Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets: 3. Be aware of Kyle Connor

Joe Pavelski would probably have some insight for the Stars scouting report for Kyle Connor. Connor is probably the most under-the-radar player in the league right now. I’m concerned he’s due for a big game for Winnipeg and it could come in Dallas tomorrow night.

Rick Bowness better have one of your top two defensemen on him at all times tomorrow night. I don’t think fans want to see him have a career game on the Star’s home ice.

Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets: 2. Keep attacking the net straight out of the gate

The Stars have to keep attacking the net right out of the gate, especially in these next 7 games including tonight. They can’t allow the Jets to get an early lead and walk out of Dallas with two points.

It would be a good time for Bowness to continue starting our Minutemen line at home. Jason Robertson looked good in the last game and I think he could have another multi-goal game tonight as well.

Dallas Stars vs Winnipeg Jets: 1. The defense needs to step up

The Stars defense looked lost on home ice against Nashville and it really can’t happen moving forward. The Stars can’t also allow the opponent to score a goal 19 seconds after they score a goal. I would really like to see the Stars have at least a good stretch of solid defensive games. It would also send a message to the league that the Stars mean business as they inch towards that playoff spot.
