The Dallas Stars looked asleep at the wheel today as the Colorado Avalanche gets the shut out 4-0. This was a game that could come back and haunt them later on in the season when it comes to a playoff position. From the looks of it, it’s like the Stars came into this game cocky and the Av’s humbled them quickly. Here is what happened at the AAC early Sunday afternoon.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 1st period recap

The Stars came out of the gate looking rough as Colorado controlled the puck for most of the beginning of the game. Gabriel Landeskog opened up the scoring for Colorado to make it 1-0 Avs. Nazem Kadri would add another goal about midway in the first period to make it 2-0 Avs. That would be the score going into the first intermission.

The Stars would trail the Avs in shots on goal 13-5, but lead in face offs won 12-5 over the Avs. The Stars need some energy whether that would be a fight or a goal to spark that. Hopefully, it comes in the second period.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 2nd period recap

Nothing really happened in the second period as both teams didn’t score in the period. The Stars would trail the Avs by one in shots on goal 20-19. The defense finally showed up slowing down the Av’s offense, but the Stars offense is still missing. Hopefully, the offense comes alive in the third period.

Dallas Stars vs Colorado Avalanche: 3rd period recap

The Stars offense would remain stagnant in the 3rd period as the Avalanche would add another two goals to their score. Nicolas Aube-Kubel would be the first to score to make it 3-0 Av’s followed by another goal by Landeskog at the end of the 3rd. The final score of this game would be 4-0 Avalanche.

The Stars have a shot to get revenge on the Avalanche on their home ice Tuesday night as they start a three game road trip.
