Dallas Stars vs Montreal Canadiens 1st period recap
John Klingberg would help the Stars get off to a “great start” by going to the penalty box less than a minute into the game. The Star’s top line would get some good attempts on Josh Allen but he would rob the Stars on a majority of those attempts.
Jake Oettinger would rob the Canadiens of a goal in the later part of the 1st period with a pad save to keep it scoreless. Jake Allen would then make one of his own against Seguin in front of him. If you are a fan of games where it comes down to goaltending, this game is for you.
Denis Gurianov would have a chance late in the 1st period but lost control of the puck in front of Allen. Radek Faksa would finally get one past Allen to make it 1-0 Stars. The Stars would go into the first intermission up 1-0 and lead in shots on goal 12-9.
Very good energy from the Stars against the Canadiens in the 1st period. Hopefully, they can keep that up in the 2nd period and keep scoring to get those two critical points.
