Stars’ fans last season have been wondering what Ben Bishop’s role on the team since he was put on the LTIR. Ben Bishop was recently seen at the Stars practice facility helping out at the Star’s annual prospect camp with the goalie prospects. Dallas Morning News Dallas Stars Reporter Matthew DeFranks announced that Bishop was hired as the Player Development Coordinator.

It really doesn’t surprise me since he mentors Jake Oettinger and the other goaltenders. There aren’t any other details released on what he will be doing in the Dallas Stars Front Office. I also don’t know how this will sit with the Buffalo Sabres since they traded for him during the offseason. It could be that the Sabres already bought him out and told him he can look for job opportunities around the league.

All I know is it’s great that Ben Bishop will remain in the North Texas area and help out the Stars in the front office for now.
