It’s finally that time of year that we have all been waiting for. I’m not talking about Dallas Cowboys fans saying “We are winning the Super Bowl this season after one win.” I’m talking about the start of Dallas Stars Training Camp. Fans have been waiting to see what new Head Coach Pete DeBoer will bring to the program. Here at Blackout Dallas, we will be giving you day-by-day coverage of the Stars Training Camp. Let’s get into some observations of day one of training camp.
Dallas Stars Training Camp Day 1: Line Assignments
During training camp, you’ll see the Stars juggle the lines quite a bit day-to-day so the coaches can see if certain players play well with each other. Dallas Stars Training Camp Day 1: Observations
I hope it was just an experiment during the first day of camp, but for the love of god, don’t pair Miro and Suter together this season. I don’t want to see Heiskanen’s promising career go down the tubes. Hopefully on Friday Miro gets paired with Nils Lundkvist. Those two could be a really good defensive pairing if both players feed off of each other.
I also really like seeing Grushnikov and Kyrou paired together as well. That could be a future defensive pairing in a couple of years so hopefully, those guys continued to get paired up together at camp.
The last thing I want to mention is the Marchment-Hintz-Gurianov pairing. While I don’t want to break up the Pavelski and Sons line from last season, That line looks like it could have some good chemistry if DeBoer wanted to shake things up this season. it all depends if Gurianov shows up this season, I don’t think the line would work if he’s not scoring a whole lot. I’d be interested to see if he puts that line together during a pre-season game this year.
Well, that was a glimpse into the opening day of Dallas Stars Training Camp this year. Things look like they are off to a great start this season. Stay tuned to Blackout Dallas for more articles regarding training camp and pre-season
