Hi, my name is Joe Pavelski and these are my sons Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson and welcome to our MasterClass. That was basically the theme of the night from the opening puck drop. The Dallas Stars went on to win the game 5-1 over the Nashville Predators. Stars fans packed the American Airlines Center to see their favorite players in person for the first time this season. Here are the three main takeaways from tonights game against the Predators.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators Recap: 3. Pavelski And Sons is better than Last Season

If you saw the game tonight, you basically saw our top line straight up dominated tonight. Roope Hintz had two goals and Jason Robertson had a goal. They had eight combined points tonight when the final horn sounded. Joe Pavelski could have joined in on the fun if the Predators didn’t challenge that goal. They look so in sync together out on the ice these past two games that other teams around the league need to take notice of it.

Dallas Stars Head Coach Pete DeBoer was super smart to leave the top line from last season together. Here’s the replay of Robertson’s goal and just watch the poetry of them passing the puck to each other. After tonight, I think Pavelski and Sons has evolved to new level this season. Other teams better start preparing for Pavelski and Sons or else it could be catastrophic for them.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators Recap: 2. Wyatt Johnston doing the little things

Wyatt Johnston is continuing to impress the coaching staff and the fan base. While Johnston didn’t score last night during the home opener, he did some good things. I could go into a list of things he did right tonight but i’m going to pick one of them.

During a line change in the 3rd period, a couple of Predators cornered Johnston while his teammates were getting off the ice. Instead of holding onto the puck, Johnston worked to get possession and passed it to the other side of the zone. This allowed the Stars to get some new players on the ice and prevented a breakaway chance for Nashville on Jake Oettinger. Don’t be surprised if he stays on the roster past nine games, the veterans already love playing with this kid. I think it could negatively impact his future if they send him back to Windsor after nine games.

Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators Recap: 1. Offense is on Fire

Did anyone have nine goals in two games on their 2022-23 Dallas Stars Bingo Card? I sure didn’t have that space on my card. The Stars have been on fire getting the offense going these first two games. Mason Marchment scored a couple in the first game against Nashville while Pavelski and Sons dominated in the second game. Hopefully they can continue finding the back of the net as the Winnipeg Jets come to town that night.
