Dallas Stars Cross The Northern Border To Take On The Maple Leafs
The Dallas Stars are making a very early trip in the season to Canada for their next three games. They kick off that road trip tonight in Toronto as they take on Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs. This will be a big test for the Stars as the Maple Leafs will be tougher competition than the Predators or the Jets. The Maple Leafs have some all-star talent in Matthews and Mitch Marner. Here are the three keys to the game if the Stars want to continue being undefeated to start the season.
Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Preview: 3. Be Aware of Your Surroundings
The Stars defense has their work cut out for them tonight up in Toronto. As I mentioned above, they have tons of talent on the Maple Leaf’s roster. The last thing the Stars need to happen tonight is the Stars lose track and Mitch Marner scores back door on Otter. If the defense can keep track of where the talent is on the ice, the Stars will have a good chance of winning.
Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Preview: 2. Who Will Be The Storyline tonight?
So far this season, a group of players have been the prominent storyline in each of the Stars first three games. In game one, It was Tyler Seguin’s line dominating the Predators. In the second game, Pavelski and Sons combined for 9 points against the Predators. In the third game, we saw the Finnish Mafia decimate the Jets. We will see who will be the prominent storyline tonight against the Maple Leafs. Jamie Benn’s line is due for a breakout game sometime soon.
Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs Preview: 1. Move Wyatt Johnston Back To Seguin’s line
Dallas Stars Rookie Wyatt Johnston has had a couple of nonproductive games on Jamie Benn’s line. I personally don’t think this is the line for Wyatt Johnston and he should be moved back to Seguin’s line. While on Benn’s line, Johnston hasn’t been as offensively productive as he was in Windsor last year. He seemed more comfortable on that line during the first game of the season. We could see Johnston revert back to himself with Mason Marchment and Seguin setting him up for goals.
