Dallas Stars look to forget trip to Minnesota with win against Blue Jackets

The Dallas Stars look to forget their 12th OT loss of the season last night as they have a quick turnaround against the Blue Jackets tonight. The Blue Jackets are at the bottom of the NHL right now battling Chicago and Anaheim for the rights to Connor Bedard. The Stars need to take this game seriously as they knocked off the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night. The Blue Jackets are not afraid to throw the kitchen sink at any team. Here are the three keys of the game against the Blue Jackets.

Dallas Stars vs Columbus Blue Jackets Preview: 3. Win in regulation

The Stars’ fanbase cannot take another OT loss this season. We are at that point with 12 OT losses and possibly more down the road. The Stars need to put away the Blue Jackets in regulation tonight. There should be no excuses for why we can’t score 3+ goals against them. The Stars need to be aggressive by driving to the net and getting shots in close on their goaltender. I want their goalie to want to leave the arena after the massive amount of shots he faces in the first period.

Dallas Stars vs Columbus Blue Jackets Preview: 2. Give Otter a break

Jake Oettinger deserves a break after last night’s disappointing shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild. He didn’t do anything wrong as he played his butt off to try and give the Stars a chance last night. Since we are playing a lottery team tonight, I figured Scott Wedgewood will be up to the task of being between the pipes tonight. The Stars need to give him a goal cushion as he can only hold off teams from scoring for so long. Help him out tonight and get two points for the Stars.

Dallas Stars vs Columbus Blue Jackets Preview: 1. Don’t embarrass yourselves

The Stars have had recent issues in winning back-to-back games this season. However, this is one game that they have to win. If the Stars were to lose to the Blue Jackets tonight, they would be the laughing stock of Twitter considering they are still in first overall in the Western Conference. Let’s turn the ship around tonight with a statement win and two points.
