The Dallas Stars have decided to take a weekend trip out to the Vegas strip as they take on the Vegas Golden Knights Saturday night. The Stars need to bring that same game plan as the last time they played them in Vegas. The last time that they played the Golden Knights in Vegas, they won 4-0. If the Stars end up winning tonight, they would reclaim first place in the Western Conference and start to bridge a gap between Winnipeg and Colorado for first in the Central Division.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview 3. Help Jake Oettinger

I don’t know what it is with this team and not helping their goaltenders out. The Stars did not help Jake Oettinger out on defense in their last game against the Blackhawks as he was left to defend the net by himself. The Stars’ defense has got to help out Oettinger tonight. At times this season, it has felt like Oettinger has been “Luka Doncic” carrying this team on his back. Tonight, I would like to see the team rally behind their goaltender.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview 2. Stop Jack Eichel and Reilly Smith

The Stars have two Golden Knights that they need to shut down and they are Jack Eichel and Reilly Smith. Eichel and Smith are tied for the top goal scorer on the Golden Knights team at 19 goals each. Vegas has been a dominant threat in the Pacific Division because of these two players this season. The defense has to shut down these two in the Stars zone or it could be a very long game.

Dallas Stars vs Vegas Golden Knights Preview 1. Got to win in regulation

The Stars are definitely in a must-win now situation after Colorado’s win over Winnipeg on Friday night. The Colorado Avalanche are surging right now and it’s not ideal for the Stars. The Stars need two points on the road tonight or else I feel like the Star’s chances of winning the Central Division are slim to none. They need to turn it around and get some confidence before the Avalanche come to town on March 4th.
