The Dallas Stars once again look to turn things around after another disappointing loss to another sub .400 hockey team. The Stars welcome the Arizona Coyotes into the American Airlines Center for their final matchup against each other this season. With the rumors of Jakob Chychrun possibly being traded to Dallas by the end of the week, the Star’s front office will most likely be in attendance for this game. Here are the three keys of the game against the Arizona Coyotes.

Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes: 3. Convert on the power play

The Stars have not converted on many of their power play chances lately. They need to shake things up whether that means changing up the units or putting someone else in charge for the remainder of the season. With the number of chances they had against the Canucks, they could have put the game away if they converted on at least two of their chances. The Stars need to figure out how to convert on them quickly before Saturday’s monumental matchup against the Avalanche.

Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes: 2. Defense needs a wake up call

The Stars’ defense needs a wake up call after allowing the bottom three teams in the league to score on them. When you allow all three teams to beat you within a week and a half, you need to wake up. The playoffs are right around the corner and the last thing the Stars need is to fall back down into the Wildcard spots.

They have held first place in the Central Division for most of this season. They need to wake up or else we will lose the division if we keep losing to teams like the Coyotes. The defense needs to shut down the Coyotes to send a statement tonight.

Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes: 1. Do what you did to them in the fall

Who remembers rolling up to Arizona State in the fall of 2022 and absolutely crushing them? Well, it’s time to replicate that on home ice tonight. The Stars are desperate for some momentum going into their matchup with the Colorado Avalanche and winning against the Coyotes tonight and the Blackhawks tomorrow could do the trick. I don’t care if it’s 5-0 Stars at the end of the first period, keep firing the puck at the net and get into a scoring groove.
