Even though the Dallas Stars won last night, do fans really consider it a victory? The Stars basically took on an “AHL version” of the Chicago Blackhawks last night and won 4-1 last night. It’s funny because Jake Oettinger needs some rest and he actually got that and a win as well.

The Stars were flying into the Chicago zone and getting some really good scoring chances on the Blackhawks. Fans were in for a treat as well as we got to watch their goalie get ejected from the game as well. Let’s take a look back at last night’s victory against the Blackhawks.

Dallas Stars vs Chicago Blackhawks Preview: 3. Swarming in their zone

The Stars were swarming in the Chicago zone last night and it was probably the highlight of the game. The number of times they stopped the puck from exiting the zone was amazing. Based on how many shot attempts they had last night, the final score could have been 7-0. The Stars need to keep doing this to get some practice before the playoffs start. If they can do what they did last night in the playoffs, we could be in for a very long playoff run.

Dallas Stars vs Chicago Blackhawks Preview: 2. Actually helped out Oettinger last night

Jake Oettinger got so much help last night that he basically got a night off of being a goaltender. In the second period, there weren’t many shot attempts by the Blackhawks on him. He was basically down in the crease just waiting for someone to give him a challenge. The team also got him a nice lead so he wouldn’t have to stress if Chicago decided to rally back and win in the 3rd period. I hope the team learned he plays his best with a huge lead.

Dallas Stars vs Chicago Blackhawks Preview: 1. Team likes to have fun

You can tell this team likes to have fun off the ice after the game. If you tuned into the postgame on Bally Sports Southwest last night, the team was crashing Tyler Seguin’s interview. One of the biggest things that makes a successful team is team chemistry. You can tell this year’s squad has chemistry and hope that chemistry can get them a massive win against the Arizona Coyotes on Friday night.
