The Dallas Stars are set to play the Seattle Kraken in Game 2 of Round 2 of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight. As we saw in their first game against each other, neither team is short of scoring any goals; the Dallas Stars had 4 goals scored in that game and they were all scored by Joe Pavelski, who was his first night back playing since Game 1, Round 1.

While it was quite the electric night for the Stars, the Kraken didn’t let them have the first-game victory as they totally tore them apart, answered every goal, and never let them take the lead again after the first goal, only allowing them to tie it up.

What will happen in Game 2, Round 2? The Dallas Stars could face some more troubles and hardships playing against the Seattle Kraken.

Yeah, yeah. Let’s get this out of the way first. Yes, Joe Pavelski did score 4 goals in his first official game back with the team; however, that proved to not really matter at all against the Seattle Kraken during Game 1 of Round 2. The Kraken proved to the Stars and legit everyone watching that they are certainly not the team to be messing with over here.

Tonight is Game 2 of Round 2 and I think that it’s pretty safe to say that Kraken fans are feeling good and pretty confident all while some Stars fans are getting the nervous jitters in preparation for tonight’s game. Of course, as a Stars fan, you always want to root for your team and think that they have what it takes to win the coveted Stanley Cup; however, there comes a point where you’ve just gotta get to the sad reality: your team might be in trouble and it’s okay to admit that.

We’re by no means saying that the Dallas Stars don’t stand a chance, we’re just saying that it could be a tough road ahead for them and that they definitely won’t get passed the Kraken easily.

Clearly, in this series, we’ve got quite the matchup of goalies. In the regular season, Dallas goalie, Jake Oettinger had some pretty impressive stats: he started in 61 of his 62 games played, he got 5 shutouts, and he holds a .919 SV% (save percentage). In the regular season, Seattle goalie, Phillipp Grubauer started in 36 of his 39 games played, he got 0 shutouts, and he holds a .895 SV% (save percentage).

Even though Oettinger has more shutouts, that doesn’t necessarily make him the better overall goalie. Both of these guys are pretty dang good when it comes to just about anything as we saw in Game 1 of the Second Round.

When it comes to Game 2 of the Second Round tonight, we expect to see nothing less from either one (both were confirmed to be starting once again). The Stars need to get some better defense and not allow Seattle to get too many SOG (shots on goal) and ultimately get too close to that beloved net.

My prediction for Game 2, although I do think that Dallas can lose another game or two, is that The Stars will defeat The Kraken 4-3. Whether that’s in overtime or in regulation, tonight will be nothing short of a good old-fashioned Blood Bath!

That’s a wrap on what the future of The Dallas Stars vs. The Seattle Kraken might look like!

What do you make of all of this? Let’s talk about all things Stars-related and why they could both win The Cup but also be in trouble at the same exact time. Enjoy the playoffs and be sure to tune into Game 2, Round 2 tonight at 8:30 PM CST on TNT!
