Dallas Stars: Future of Max Domi after 2023 Draft Lottery
As we all know, during this year’s Draft Lottery, the Chicago Blackhawks were awarded the first overall pick during the official 2023 NHL Draft (congrats to my Home Team)! While there was a lot of screaming going on that night and tons of congratulations, it had all of us Hawks fans thinking of one player in particular…….Max Domi of the Dallas Stars.
What will his future be with his current team and how might he benefit from going to Chicago?
What will the future look like for Max Domi on the Dallas Stars? Will he be returning to the Chicago Blackhawks? Only time will tell…….
If you’re thinking to yourself, “Oh yeah. The Chicago Blackhawks can use Max Domi to score them a lot of goals,” then you’re wrong. #18 on the Stars just simply isn’t that type of player. During his time with the Stars before the playoffs, though it was super brief, he only scored 2 whole goals in 20 games. Before that, during his time with the Hawks this season, Domi scored 18 goals in a total of 60 games (either stat = not so great); however, he’s still a kick-a** player who anyone would be absolutely and totally lucky to have on their team no matter what.
Max Domi is definitely someone who likes to create opportunities with the offensive potential.
If we get into the Chicago Blackhawks just a bit here. They finished with the third worst record in the league making them eligible to win one of the two draft lottery spots that were available to the other worst-finishing teams. Lucky for them, they won the #1 draft lottery spot earning them, no matter how you look at it, super talented and super young Center, Connor Bedard.
Given all of that, here’s where Max Domi comes back into the picture. He has stated on multiple occasions on how much he absolutely loved playing in Chicago with his team under the totally awesome leadership of Luke Richardson. That being said, why not bring him back? Him and Bedard could totally be seen on a line together, helping each other score goals (which Bedard is very good at with 71 this year alone).
As much as we love seeing Max Domi play alongside Tyler Seguin, Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson, and Joe Pavelski, we also want what’s best for him and I think that sending him back to Chicago will not only help them out, but it will also boost his morale, which for a player, is absolutely everything!!
