The Dallas Stars have reached another elimination game in their chase for the Stanley Cup. They look to eliminate the Seattle Kraken tonight up in Seattle to cap off their games this season in the Pacific Northwest.
The Stars cannot afford to slip up as they did in game 3 against the Kraken. The last thing that the Stars need on their plate is to give the Kraken motivation if this goes to a game 7. The Stars need to come out swinging tonight on the road to end their season and get a break before possibly taking on the Edmonton Oilers or the Vegas Golden Knights. Let’s take a look at the three keys of the game tonight as the Stars look to end the Kraken’s season on the road.
Dallas Stars vs Seattle Kraken Preview: 3. We need offense
The Stars need to fire shots on Philipp Grubauer coming out of the gate tonight. They need to get him off his game and get Martin Jones in the game. The more they allow him to get comfortable, the less I think the Stars are going to score tonight. When Grubauer gets a bunch of saves, he gets very confident. Coming out of the gate hot and catching him off guard is the best thing that the Stars can do offensively tonight.
Dallas Stars vs Seattle Kraken Preview: 2. Devil Otter time
The Stars need to have Jake Oettinger have one of his best performances of his career tonight to make the Western Conference Finals. Otter has to play the party crasher role and make the Kraken brake their sticks tonight when he makes the tough saves. The team can help him do this by keeping the puck out of their zone. The Kraken got too comfortable in the Stars’ zone the other night and thanks to Oettinger, the Stars aren’t fighting for their lives tonight.
Dallas Stars vs Seattle Kraken Preview: 1. Get the rest before taking on the big boys
The Stars just need to close out this series tonight and advance to the Western Conference Finals. I don’t want to see a motivated and fast-paced Kraken team at the American Airlines Center. That is a recipe for disaster that the Avalanche had to suffer through. Let’s learn from the Avalanche’s mistakes and win this game tonight and shake hands at center ice.
