Last night at Dr. Pepper Ballpark was a blast considering what happened to the RoughRiders. For those who didn’t know it was Dallas Stars Night at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. The Frisco RoughRiders took on the NW Arkansas Naturals who are the Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. There were tons of Stars fans out in attendance considering the blistering heat. Let’s take a look at what happened at the Ballpark on Friday night as Stars fans celebrated training camp being right around the corner.

Dallas Stars Night: Who threw out the first pitch?

The Stars player who threw out the first pitch at the game was none other than Wyatt Johnston. He was swarmed by fans near the entrance to the field trying to get last-minute autographs before he threw out the first pitch to Wyatt Langford.

From where I was sitting behind home plate, it looked like a strike right down the middle. Afterward, the two Wyatts took a picture together before the game started. During the national anthem, there were some weak “Stars” chants. Considering it’s been a very long offseason of waiting for hockey to return, I’ll let it slide for now.

Dallas Stars Night: How did the game go?

It didn’t go so well for the Frisco RoughRiders as they lost the game 6-3 after a long drawn-out game. The Roughrider’s Starting Pitcher Ryan Garcia had a good night considering he gave up 3 runs and struck out eight batters. It’s just they couldn’t get any offense going tonight. Most of their runs came from mistakes made by the Naturals. You won’t win a ball game if you strand people on base. They still have two more home games this season this year before they head to Amarillo for the final series of the season.

Dallas Stars Night: Conclusion

It was a very good night celebrating the Dallas Stars and the fact that training camp is right around the corner. It was awesome seeing the RoughRiders wearing custom Blackout Jerseys. They were having an auction for those jerseys in the middle of the game and all the proceeds will go to the Dallas Stars Foundation.
