The grueling days of the offseason are upon us. It’s nearing the middle of August, and the end is in sight. While the Dallas Stars have been quiet lately, there are a few things fans can do to stay preoccupied while the countdown rages on.

The NHL season is only a few weeks out, but the wait is getting frustrating for the Dallas Stars to return. Countdowns and season preparation can only do so much in place of the real thing, but don’t fret, there are a few things you can do to beat the last few weeks of the offseason.

Do Your Research

With the NHL Draft in the rearview mirror and a new coach about to take the spot behind the Stars’ bench, it’s the perfect time to start figuring out what the future might hold. Dallas has undergone a number of changes throughout the years, making it hard to keep up.

Whether your interests lie in the prospects, players on the Texas Stars’ roster or players in Victory Green right now, there’s plenty to look in to.

Doing a deep dive into the history of new players and the new coach, Jim Montgomery, should be a great way to pass the time as you await the puck to drop on the 2018-19 season.

Get Shopping

A new season is the perfect excuse to buy some new Dallas Stars gear. If you’re in need of a jersey, t-shirt or hat, now is a great time to get shopping. If you live in Dallas and can visit a store in-person, take advantage of all of the gear that might be on sale.

Even if you’re buying a jersey of a player who no longer calls Dallas home, you’ll still be able to show your pride for the team when they hit the ice month after next. Plus, ordering something online will ensure you receive your purchases by the time preseason starts next month, making it the perfect decision for fans new and old.

Lastly, remember to keep thinking positive thoughts. The offseason is just as grueling for the players and organization personnel as it is for fans (if not more), so try to enjoy the warm weather. Hockey will be here before you know it.
