There’s a report out that the Dallas Stars will be one of multiple teams receiving a jersey makeover this summer when Adidas takes over. What could the upgrades look like?
In June of 2013, the Dallas Stars made a significant change to their franchise when they adopted a new logo, color scheme, and jerseys. It was all a part of the “new era” that was on the horizon for the Stars organization.
And just four years later, it looks like there will be some more changes. While the logos and color schemes are expected to remain the same, the jerseys are a different story.
About one week ago, the website SportsLogos.net cited multiple sources telling them that 12 NHL teams would be changing up the look of their jerseys in the coming offseason. This is all a part of the outfitter shift happening this summer when Adidas takes over for Reebok as the official outfitter of the NHL.
The Stars will reportedly be joined by the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, New Jersey Devils, and Ottawa Senators.

So the next question on everyone’s mind is: what about the uniform is changing?
The article pointed out that the changes could very well be something minor. Considering no one seems to have any serious problems with the Stars’ current jerseys, it’s a pretty safe bet that there won’t be any substantial fixes to it.
The Victory Green will definitely stick around considering it is a noteworthy color that helps the Dallas Stars significantly stand out from the rest of the league. Color and layout will likely remain the same.
The patches are where things will probably get interesting. The primary logo isn’t going to be changed considering it is still so new and gives the Stars a more modern and sleek look. But the shoulder patches and numbers could be changing.
Sportslogos.net projected that the team could use a trim around their numbers, considering they are currently all white on the green jerseys and all green on the white jerseys. A black trim could look good on both sets and help the numbers stand out a little bit more.
But the biggest change that could make the jerseys look all sorts of fresh would be changing the shoulder patches out. The Dallas Stars currently have a handful of alternate and secondary logos that could be used as their shoulder patch. The one they currently use is the circle with the miniature logo inside and “Dallas Stars” written around it.

Another secondary logo that they could use is the shape of the outline of Texas with the Stars’ logo inside. It would pay homage to their older uniforms and would really bring out the Texas pride. But that could clash with the 25th Anniversary Patch that the Dallas Stars will wear in the top right corner of their jersey this coming season. It is an outline of Texas with the number 25 inside. They could still find a way to make it work, though.
These are just two possibilities of what Adidas could have planned for the Stars. Whatever they reportedly decide to go with, it’ll be fun to see a little change hopefully spice up the uniform.
