4. Sharp’s Beautiful Feed To Faksa

Now, to be completely fair, a lot of this moment rests on Radek Faksa’s playmaking skills. But Sharp’s contributions are every bit just as important.

It was early March of this most recent season, and things weren’t looking good for the Dallas Stars. Only one month remained in the season and the Stars sat seven points out of the final wild card spot in the West. They had been horribly inconsistent all season and were in serious need of a quick revamping.

A lot of the team had suffered through injuries at one point or another throughout the season, including Patrick Sharp. A few concussion injuries here and there kept him sidelined for multiple stretches throughout the year, and a hip injury would eventually cut his season two weeks short. So it wasn’t far off from the Stars’ game against the New York Islanders on March 2.

The game would prove to be yet another demoralizing loss for Dallas, but the highlights created in it will be worth celebrating and reliving for a long time. One of those is Radek Faksa’s Tony Hawk impersonation.

About midway through the second period, the Stars were locked 1-1 with the Islanders and needed something to break the tie. That something turned out to be Faksa.

Upon skating into the zone, Faksa reacted quickly to an oncoming hip check by hopping up on the boards in front of the Stars’ bench and gliding across before landing safely in the offensive zone. Immediately after, he sent the puck flying into the opposite corner, where Patrick Sharp retrieved it. The rest is for the videos to tell.

It was an incredible play overall that was capped off by a great goal from Faksa.

But it would not have happened without a quick retrieval of the puck by Sharp and a crisp pass across the crease to Faksa’s awaiting stick. Sharp definitely deserves props for helping Faksa close off this wicked highlight goal.
