The Dallas Stars are set to return to Cedar Park in September for what promises to be a high-stakes training camp you don’t want to miss.

If you’re like us and still feeling like the advent of Hocktober is still forever away, here’s something to cheer you up a bit: training camp is right around the corner for the Dallas Stars. Even though it’s still a month away, excitement is in the air as we speculate about the implications of this important pre-season event.

It’ll all kick off on Friday, September 15th and run through that Monday, September 18th at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, which is becoming a training camp tradition for the Dallas Stars, who will be returning there for the third year.

Although we’ve yet to see a training camp roster, we’d bet the farm that this year’s is going to be an interesting one. As their roster is teeming with all sorts of new names, the Stars will not only be trying out a new system under new coaching management, but will be fitting lots of new pieces into an equally new puzzle.

Not to mention, the Dallas Stars have stacked their roster to the point that they are over salary cap. Multiple players from the overstaffed defense corps, in all practicality, will be on their way out.

Fans have done all sorts of speculating about who those players might be, and we’ve compiled the opinions all in one place for your reading pleasure here. While we also have a pretty unanimous idea about what the finalized defense should look like come opening night, training camp will be our first real clue as to which players will be out, and which players will be finding their in with the team.

While the stakes will be high for some players, training camp will also be a great opportunity to see in action what may become go-to lines for new coach Ken Hitchcock. We’ve all wondered and prayed and crossed our fingers over the potential (and almost certain) Jamie BennTyler SeguinAlexander Radulov line, and there will be others that likely get their first shake at Cedar Park in a month’s time.

Long story short, the Dallas Stars’ 2017 Training Camp is not one that you’ll want to miss. On Friday, Saturday, and Monday of camp, practices will be open to any and all curious fans looking to get a leg up on the new season.
