It’s easy to lose track of time during the holiday season. First, it’s Thanksgiving and then, before you even realize, it’s Christmas Eve. Use this list as a guide for what to gift to every Dallas Stars fan on your list this year.

The holidays are all about family, but there’s admittedly something special about giving the perfect gift. Watching someone’s eyes light up as they unwrap the well thought out, purposeful gift you’ve chosen is something out of a storybook.

But, you might be struggling to determine exactly what that item should be this year. It’s okay, you’re not a bad (insert relationship to the recipient here). It’s difficult. If it were easy, re-gifting wouldn’t be a thing. Here are things to consider for every Dallas Stars fan on your list.

The Longtime Fan

What exactly do you buy for the person who has everything? Even their car is decked out in all things Stars. It’s not an easy feat to accomplish, but it can be done.

The good news is that the NHL is really good about updating their store each year with new designs and styles. So, even if your recipient has seemingly everything any person could ever want or need, there’s something they could still use.

Basically, your options boil down to a few options: cold weather gear like hats, scarves and gloves, or general house wear items like cooking supplies. The beauty of these is that even if they have a scarf or hat, they can work the new one that you give them into their rotation. And with kitchen or house wear items, it’s probably the last thing they would buy (unless their kitchen is Stars themed).

You could also go the route of loungewear, if that’s more their thing. The Dallas Stars have some really nice pajama pants and sweatshirts that are perfect for lounging around the house.

Splurge: If you’re aiming to dish out a bit more on this particular person, look at Dallas’ upcoming road schedule and plan for the two of you to attend. Yes, it’s a serious budget-killer if you haven’t planned, but money spent seeing the team in a different arena is some of the best you’ll ever spend (speaking from experience here).

The Newbie

And on the other end of the spectrum is the person on your list who just got into hockey. Maybe they have a few things related to the Stars, but nothing is off limits because their collection is still at its beginning stages.

For this person, your best bet is to grab them something small, like a keychain or lanyard, and a player tee of their favorite Star. This will always be a winning combination because they’re both practical ways of showing fandom without being over the top.

Splurge: If they’re very new to the team, buying them their first jersey is a great way to initiate them to the fandom. You could either get one that’s plain so they can customize it themselves or pick up one with their favorite player’s name and number on the back.

The General Hockey Fan

Lastly, the person on your list who isn’t just a fan of the Dallas Stars, but rather, refers to themselves as a fan of many NHL teams. There’s nothing wrong with liking more than one team, but it’s difficult to pick something that’s specifically Stars-oriented.

Your best bet is going to be either a plain logo tee or a piece of NHL gear versus Stars-specific. It will acknowledge their interest in more teams than just Dallas while still including them.

Splurge: If something they could wear isn’t really up your alley, consider picking up a customized decor piece. Again, this can be for the Stars or the league in general, but you can’t go wrong with something custom that they can throw up on a wall in a game room or sports cave.
